Planning a birthday for kids and adults

Despite your children being the apple of your eye, your rock, the light at the end of the tunnel etc., their birthdays don’t half creep up on you. And don’t they remind you of it!

Unfortunately, the stresses of modern day life like a 9-5 job, cooking dinner and cleaning the house among other things consume much needed party planning time. So, what is a quick and easy party to throw for your child’s birthday that will keep his/her friends entertained and the adults occupied?

Two words – fancy dress. Kids love to dress up (and so do some adults!) so ordering a few Disney fancy dress costumes could satisfy the child’s need to dress up like some of their fictional heroes.

For the adults, maybe incorporating a Pirates of the Caribbean theme would keep both parties happy? The children can dress up like swashbuckling pirates and play with plastic toy swords whereas the adults can dress up like Orlando Bloom’s smouldering blacksmith Will Turner or Keira Knightley’s gorgeous maiden Elizabeth Swann. The birthday boy or girl could take the spotlight as Johnny Depp’s swashbuckling hero Jack Sparrow or Penelope Cruz’s sultry pirate Angelica.

A Toy Story theme could be another idea that will keep kids and adults entertained. Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Rex, Zurg, Mr Potato Head and all your favourites are very do-able. Woody, Buzz and Jessie costumes can be purchased whereas Rex or Mr Potato Head could require a little more imagination!

Fake teeth, green body paint and a papier-mache tail could make for a great Rex. Papier-mache eyes, noses, ears and any other contraptions associated with the potato-headed wonder could be made and stuck on random places of the body. A great costume – if a little creepy!

There are hundreds of fancy dress themes you can do for kids and adults alike – Star Wars, Batman, Spiderman, Little Mermaid, Mickey or Minnie Mouse…more than enough to keep the most imaginative child or adult occupied for the day!

For women in classic style

For women in classic style, or who also seek garments current (but without exaggerations) and quality for the day to day in the office, Tintoretto is a very good option. This chain of stores of women’s fashion, offers us season after season collections that while not characterized by continue at the foot of the letter trends, if we offer fashion with much style.
For this Autumn-Winter 2009-2010 the proposal by Tintoretto is characterized by autumn tone (with the predominance of gray), and knitwear.
Looks with overlapping of garments is what we are in the images of the catalog. Thus we have cardigans of point fine to carry beneath a coat in the days more cold or in cities where winter is more intense.
This contest that plays with the range of gray and black, I love a jersey neck “V” on a white t-shirt and above a maxi-cardigan adorned with a belt of skin, is ideal for the days of autumn warmer than we currently have, the mini-skirt in gray complemented with some socks high above the knee give a touch very female in this look.
The cardigans and sweaters short sleeves are still carrying this winter, the Tintoretto are of manga wide. The neck high in gray can be alone or with a shirt or t-shirt. (more…)

The transparencies style

The game insinuates but did not show, the transparencies, promises over this autumn-winter, when we decide go dressed for a special occasion.
The origin of this trend goes back to the year 1966, when the genius of fashion, Yves Saint Laurent, scandalized society of Paris proposing garments transparent in Haute Couture. From that time we have already had on several occasions the exciting game of the slides as fashion. This is what is going to happen this winter, in which we can seduce, without falling into the vulgarity with a pledge of this type.
If it is a blouse fully transparent, wears a brace of a color of the same hue, generally a little more dark, and if it is of fine silk better. A dress very sexy and seductive, can have the sleeves transparent or part of the back, to insinuate without apparently “ordinary”.
Look at the creations of Christopher Kane, Top shop Unique or Zac Posen, who in the gateway presented this trend. The models show more of what advised, but you that you must interpret this fashion.

Color of the season

The colors flooded our whole life to make happy or to get melancholic. All have their meanings, but in the fashion that is different: They often mark, also, the trends.
In general, in the times where leaves much the sun and heat is prevailing, the colors more alive are very fashionable, as the fuchsia, turquoise, yellow or orange. On the contrary, for the seasons of autumn and winter, the cold colors are the prevailing. One of the cold colors that we can find is blue. This color has a wide range of shades that are adapted, each one, to our skin type, whether we have complexion white or dark.
This season autumn-winter 2009 blue is one of the colors that will have greater presence. We will find both in clothing, as in accessories, shoes and handbags everywhere. This color will be a perfect choice to look fantastic.
There are already many firms around the world who have chosen to blue as the color predominant in their garments of fashion. We have, for example, to the famous shop Zara and also to the brand of clothing and accessories Stradivarius. (more…)
